Toyota Dream Car Art Contest


Toyota Dream Car Art Contest invites children from all parts of the world to share ideas about the future of mobility by drawing their dream cars. This year’s contest is the 12th edition. The contest takes place at two major levels namely, National Contest and World Contest. National Contest which is held in each country or region, takes place under the purview of the Toyota distributor in the country or region. 9 finalist from the National contest will be presented with gifts and certificates and their works will be sent to Japan to represent their respective country in a global contest.

In Nigeria, Toyota (Nigeria) Ltd is the organizer of the national contest of Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. The theme for this edition is "Your Dream Car."

Entry Guidelines

  • Entry period: The contest takes place at three locations in Nigeria – Abuja (February 10, 2018), Port Harcourt (February 10, 2018) and Lagos (February 17, 2018). Completed entry forms are to be brought to a drawing center at 8.00am prompt before drawing starts by 10.00am
  • Eligibility: Three age categories:
    (1) Under 8years old;
    (2) 8 – 11years;
    (3) 12 – 15years.
  • Theme: "Your Dream Car"
  • How to create your work: Toyota Nigeria will provide drawing papers but participants are to come with their preferred medium -(e.g. pencils, crayons, water paints, colour markers etc.). The only restriction is that digital tools must not be used. The artwork must be hand-drawn, showing your dream car and probably a background that supports the idea. The work should be original and easily understandable to different cultures across the world.

The World Contest

As mentioned earlier, nine deserving entries from each participating country are pooled into the world contest where a panel of jury, headed by Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota Motor Corporation adjudge the entries. From this contest emerge winners graded as Gold, Silver, Bronze and Encouragement Awards for each category. Each of them gets an invitation trip to attend the award presentation ceremony. And they are to be accompanied by one parent or legal guardian.
