Check Out the Three Ads of Life…

Ad, a portmanteau word for advertisement? No! The Ads I want to discuss here are more unique. The book of life says, "If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small". (Proverbs 24:10).

The first Ad of life is Adversity: the state of adverse conditions; state of misfortune or calamity. What a word, annoying and unwanted! Most people wish this word and its meaning never existed. Well, if only wishes were horses…

Adversity, problems, difficulties, trials, tribulations, or what have you, are bound to happen in the life of every living being on earth. Shocking but true. It is inevitable! It comes to both young and old, rich and poor, good and bad, optimsist and pessimist, everyone on earth.

The question now isn’t if it comes but when It comes. The "day of adversity" may not be a ‘day’ in the literal sense, it may be days, weeks, months or even years as the case may be. The "day of adversity" is a metaphor, meaning a season, a period, or a moment of difficulty, troubles, etc.

Another question is, are you prepared for that day? Will you be a victor or a vanquished?

The Day of Adversity has no timetable so you have no idea when it comes and it has no time frame so you don’t know when it goes, but I must say that it eventually goes.

"If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small".

Prior, proper preparation prevents poor performance. It is wisdom to strengthen yourself against that day of adversity through adequate preparation. Experiences of others let you in on what the "day of adversity" brings upon individuals and how each person rose to the occasion.

Someone might ask, "if we truly have a good God, why then does He allow adversity in our lives?"

Well, friend I would like to tell you that God is more good than you think and He is too good to even have a bad thought about you – God is love. We always miss it when we blame God for our problems. He isn’t responsible for it – The adversary is! Yes, the second Ad.

The adversary – devil is the mastermind behind all the bad stuff you blame God for and not only in your life but also in the lives of others and in the world at large. He is responsible for cancers afflicting people, wars ravaging nations, famines, earthquakes etc, and he is so deceitful and clever that he makes you delusional – thinking that God, (your Helper) is responsible for those unpleasant situations.

However, don’t be discouraged friend, as our God is a good God and a God of Love, He won’t make you go through the "day of adversity" alone.

Though sometimes we bring troubles on ourselves cos of our sins. While at other times, God allows us to experience pain – it all serves a purpose .

In His goodness and mercy He sent someone to help each believer in Christ go through this season and that person is the Advocate, the third Ad of life. The Advocate (also known as the Holy Spirit) is the most formidable influence in the whole universe strengthening believers with fortitude as they go through that "day of adversity".

He turns the day(s) of adversity into day(s) of transformation – making the person experience spiritual growth and attaining maturity in the faith. However, He requires that you cooperate with Him for His effectiveness and your victorious outcome.

Don’t go through the season blaming others or cursing God for all that is happening in your life, but go through it with the Advocate and experience the peace that surpasses understanding, supernatural growth and strength that takes place within. Intimacy with the Advocate guarantees victory against the adversary and glory through adversity.

Adversity, Adversary and The Great Advocate, the three Ads of life.
