Google in partnership with Udacity and Andela has kicked off a scholarship program for Africa. This scheme will grant scholarships to 15,000 aspiring developers across Africa. The learning program is open to both beginner and intermediate levels in web or android development. Are you 18 or above? Do you have time to play games, watch TV or fiddle with gadgets? Application deadline: April 24, 2018.

Phase One

In the first phase, you have opportunity to be one of the 15,000 selected candidates who will participate in a 2-month Udacity curated courses. The modules are tailored to suit your level of experience and interest which you indicate during application. All training are fully online and at your pace. Luckily though, you may be invited to join the Andela Learning Community (ALC).

Phase Two

In the second phase, 500 outstanding scholars from phase one will be selected for the full Nanodegree scholarship by Google. Duration is six month and location could be in the US. Within the period, you will acquire expertise in one of the four Nanodegree Programs. They are Mobile Web Specialist, Android Developer, Front-End Web Developer and Android Basics Nanodegree.

Eligibility

The Udacity Google Africa Scholarship Program is open to individuals who meet the following criteria.

• Age: 18 years and above at the time of application;
• African Nationals or students whose county’s law does not prohibit citizen’s participation in this contest and does not disapprove of the services of Udacity.
