Oyedepo on Herdsmen

Bishop David Oyedepo, President of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel has added his voice to the ongoing outcry against the menace of Fulani herdsmen’s wanton shedding of innocent people’s blood in Nigeria. This address was delivered at the Faith Tabernacle and broadcast globally on January 14, 2018.

Prophets has the duty to warn nations against impending dangers. I’m sent as a prophet to the nations and He grant me access to divine confidentialities about nations. So, I have this wake up call to a nation in slumber. Insurgency is spreading across the nation under the guise of Fulani herdsmen. Danger is looming! For example, how many of this killers have been brought to book since their campaign of carnage, death and destruction began? They must have the backing of some invisible powers.

It’s not enough to pray, we must cry out! The destiny of this nation has not been under a threat for survival as this time. The security apparatus of this Nation has obviously failed to protect, to defend the lives and properties of poor farmers across the nation. While we are claiming to curtail Boko Haram onslaught, we are on the other hand "sponsoring or abetting" Fulani herdsmen and their murderous act. Nigeria is a nation at war with herself: no external aggressions, no ethic crisis, no natural disasters, yet we are doing mass burials. Nigeria is a nation at war with herself! What a nation in a state of slumber!

Hear the voice of the Lord through this prophet. The soul of Nigeria is nearing the point of death and the nation and her citizens fast becoming endangered species. God have mercy!

I throw some questions that border on conscience as unveiled to me by God. Pertinent questions that borders on the conscience of a nation and her leaders: Is cattle business government business? should farmers be killed for Fulani herdsmen to live? Should all the farmers leave their farms today for the fear of Fulani herdsmen? Would the nation ever survive, when we are still producing less than 20% of what we eat?

There is more to this low responses for relevant agencies in addressing this sensitive issue, which is obviously a time bomb. Where is the morality behind the strangers, and I call them strangers. We live in a land where every community legally own their land. Farming on your father’s land, and some strangers in the name of herdsmen who are doing their personal business come to graze on your crops and kill you on top of it. Where is government? Where are the leaders of thought?

You said, but what concerns me? I’m a God-ordained stakeholder. I have under my care by divine grace 1 out of every 150 Nigerian is a Winner that are under my watch. God will ask me of them, I don’t want to be inquired of their blood. Their is no state of this nation without the strong footprint of this church. Even in the midst of book haram harassment, we were there on ground rescuing souls, praying for the peace of the region. Don’t ask me "what’s your concerns?" I have more stake than most people within that region. Their conscience is dead! You can’t trade the lives of men for your ambition. No! No! Not when prophets are in the land!

Does Nigeria’s land now belong to Fulani herdsmen? Are they now the customary land owners in every state, every city, every town, every village and every hamlet? There is danger in the offing! Can those citizen still trust the security agency of this nation for their protection? It’s after the killings they arrive there. And when citizen can no longer trust the government for security, a state of anarchy is in view. Insurrection may as well be on the way! This largely unchecked aggression of Fulani herdsmen will eventually choke the soul of Nigeria to death. God forbid!

Is Nigeria project still working? I have my doubt. We can not remain one with gross injustice, with no feeling of concerns. It’s time to get out of slumber. Nigeria shall remain one, because justice shall prevail. You can’t be stepping on my toes and say let’s have peace; I say take your feet off my feet, you say let’s just have peace. No, you’ll have an exchange of blows. You can’t have peace with injustice. He says, "the work of righteousness shall be peace and the effect of righteousness shall be quietness and assurance forever." You can’t use wickedness to see peace!

Tongue speaking…!

Nobody is a Nigerian more than I am a Nigerian. And much more, I am sent by God for the liberation the of souls of men. My mandate is more important than anybody’s ambition. Wait a minute, the wicked shall not survive in this nation!

Now, is our sense of value for human live still alive in Nigeria? Today human beings are now being slain for cattles. What! Should men, women and children countinue to lay down their lives for cattles? Cattles are meant to lay down their lives for men. Listen to me, how are these killers making away with their murderous acts? They must have the backing of some powers that be. Any right thinking Nigerian will speculate same. Is "boko haram" not spreading strategically in the guise of Fulani herdsmen across the nation? How many cows will a Fulani herdsman sell to buy an AK 47 riffle which is at a cost of about 3 million Naira? He would sell all his fortune to buy one. But now children of herdsmen are holding riffles. Some fellows must be responsible in supplying them. Nigeria should wake up out of slumber and defend the unity of our great nation or "to your tent oh Israel" may be the last result.

Now I have spoken the mind of God for the hour, let all responsible wake up to their responsibilities. The wicked shall not continue to have his way in Nigeria. Thank you Jesus! Give the Lord a big hand.

Now, let God arise and His enemies be scattered! Rise to your feet and pray, let God arise and His enemy be scattered. Let also all that hate Him flee before Him, as the smoke is driven away, drive them away. As wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. Now pray! A-R-I-S-E and rescue the soul of Nigeria from the hands of the wicked! A-R-I-S-E oh God! Pray. Every gang up against the progress of this nation shall be visited with divine judgment today. In Jesus precious name we have prayed.

A new Nigeria is born! The wickedness of the wicked has come to an end. The wanton killings of innocent people has come to an end. the wickedness of the wicked shall fall on their own heads. You know God said "he that curses you I will curse" They say Jesus, "the fig tree that you cursed is withered." He said, "yes, have faith in God…" Faith curses! The Holy Ghost curses! Therefore, recompense tribulations to everyone behind the wanton killings of so called herdsmen. Trouble all that troubles this nation. Trouble them and their household. Trouble them and their generations after them. In the name of Jesus Christ. Thank you Jesus!
