PRESCRIBED SHAKESPEAREAN TEXT FOR OBJECTIVE/CONTEXTUAL QUESTIONS

SUCCESS TIPS ON WASSCE/NECO LITERATURE-IN-ENGLISH QUESTIONS
The Literature-in-English question is in three parts – paper 1, paper 2 and paper 3. Papers one and two are to be done together at one sit while paper 3 is to be done alone at one other sit.
Paper 1 [50 marks]: This is a 50 objective multiple choice questions to be answered in 1 hour. The 50 questions are composed of the following:
a) General knowledge of Literature – twenty (20) questions;
b) Unseen prose passage – five (5) questions;
c) Unseen poem – five (5) questions;
d) Shakespearean text – twenty (20) contextual questions
Paper 2 [50 marks]: This is theory type questions to be answered in 1 hour 15 minutes. Paper 2 is made up of two sections. Section A is on African Prose and section B is on Non-African Prose. Students will be required to answer one out of the two questions in each of sections A and section B. That amounts to 2 questions.
Paper 3 [100 marks]: This is theory type questions to be answered in 2 hours 30 minutes. Paper 3 is made up of 4 sections. They are:
a) Section A: African Drama
b) Section B: Non-African Drama
c) Section C: African Poetry
d) Section D: Non-African Poetry
Students will be required to answer one out of the two questions in each of the sections A, B, C and D. That amounts to 4 questions.
