This powerful e-book represent the first reference (001) in Sam Adeyemi’s Life Lessons Coaching Series. In What I Would Do Differently, you will be imparted with the wisdom for drawing lessons out of the experiences of other people. Sam exposes some of the mistakes he had made in life which are invariably a reflection of the general pitfalls on the way to fulfil the yearnings of an average person in our part of the world. In addition, he also teaches seven life lessons that’s capable of helping you to avoid similar mistakes. Adeyemi challenged the common application of the popular cliché – experience is the best teacher – to the intent that, once you read this book, you would not want to experience certain things before you acquire pertinent lessons thereof.

Just within few pages, he highlights the countless mistakes he had made in his ministry, marriage, consulting business, relationships, health and in his life generally. The level of openness and frankness with which Sam poured out his heart in this book is unprecedented. And to reveal how passionate he is about not wanting anyone to repeat those mistakes, he’s made the book available absolutely free of charge! Following are excerpts from the book.

Lesson #1 – WORRY WON’T SOLVE ANY PROBLEM
"…unfortunately, by the time I was done with schooling there was no business anymore…That was why I had to go searching for a job. It took 20 months after graduation and the mandatory Youth Service in my country…before I got this job…I was moody, I felt sorry for my self and I began to blame my dad…"
"Overtime, however, I have realized that our emotions make us magnets; living magnets…"

Lesson #2 – SUCCESS IS NOT A DAY’S JOB
"…I was persuading myself that I was going. As the date approached and got closer and closer, I could not even get five hundred Naira, ot to talk of twenty-one thousand Naira…"
"…success comes through the law of process. You need to calm down and…There is no amount of heat that can make a block of ice melt instantly…"

Lesson #3 – MORE MONEY WON’T MAKE YOU RICH WITHOUT DISCIPLINE
"…but I was borrowing money that I had no capacity to pay back. Eventually it became a big issue, a big source of embarrassment to me…"
"…temptation is for you to have something within your reach and not have the permission to take it…"
"There are many excuses that we give ourselves especially when it comes to the issue of money. We have those excuses that seem to be genuine for breaking rules…"

Lesson #4 – LOCATION WON’T CHANGE WHO YOU ARE
He recounted the words of Archbishop Ben Idahosa, that a lizard in Nigeria will not become a crocodile in America. And the story told by Russell Cornwell in ‘Acres of Diamond.’
"…I wanted to run away from my country but when my mindset changed, I began to look for opportunities to add values…And the more I have committed myself to adding value…all the dreams I had, cars I wanted to drive, the places I wanted to go, they have come to pass."

Lesson #5 – SUCCESS ALWAYS COMES WITH A BALANCE
"When we are deprived of something, we tend to over value the importance of that thing in our lives to the point where we can throw our lives out of balance."
"…but there was a big gap in my heart. I remembered my own childhood. How my parents would be thre in the evenings and told us stories…"
"So I began to set my goals on all areas…"

Lesson #6 – ACCEPT PEOPLE THE WAY THEY ARE
"When I was growing up I had issues with my brother. I am just one year ten months older than he is. When we became teenagers he…"
"I have learnt therefore that people are designed with different personality traits…"
"I want to encourage you to accept your spouse because in marriage, usually, opposites attract…We never succeed when we force people to become exactly like us…"

Lesson #7 – YOU NEED YOUR BODY TO ACHIVE YOUR GOALS
"…The doctor screamed, ‘that’s how you live your life the average day? That’s terrible, that’s dangerous’"
"A short while after that, my father-in-law who is a Professor of Chemistry, now retired, asked me about my meal patterns… "
"Avoid the mistakes that I made. They say experience is the best teacher but someone added as long as it is not your own experience."

Each chapter of the book ends with a number of action points which promises to fast rack your wisdom acquisition. He encourages readers to take time to reflect on each nugget and figure out how to avoid making those mistakes. If Sam could turn out right as we could see today despite those mistakes, it’s a proof that you too can make it, even if you have experienced similar mistakes.
