As We Take a Bow from Secondary School, Farewell

All this celebration and Jubilation would not have been possible, but by the aid of our gracious Father in heaven, we achieved our aims. God had always assisted us even at the point where the going was tough, a time of great concentration, high emotions and that period we had to work harder, in order not to put all past effort to waste. We thank Him for the success of our examinations which include NECO, WASSCE, even UTME. Before the kick off of those exams, a certain kind of fear aroused in us, but all thanks to Yahweh it is over now. We all conquered our fears and now we are through.

Now we understand the fact that good students are products of good teachers, we could not have achieved this height of greatness without their help. They taught us to know that greatness is in us and we only need self determination to attain that mighty position planned for us by God. We extend our gratitude to all the teachers that imparted this knowledge into us, which is one of the reasons we can say we have achieved success. Sometimes I wonder how our teachers study day after day just to make sure we have a brighter future. Where will our so called successful men and women be without the efforts of teachers? Thanks once again to all those teachers that made us who we are today and I know for sure their efforts will never be in vain.

We also express a deep appreciation to our parents, for showing us love by supporting us financially, morally and spiritually. We received prayers from them before and after exams and now we are reaping the fruit of their labor.

The name of my alma mater is Lissie Comprehensive College, founded by Mrs. Bolaji Rotimi. It is located in Ota, Ogun State. A school blessed with highly qualified teachers!

Life in school was not really easy, we had both good times and bad times. There were situations we felt the going was hard, times when we found it difficult to concentrate, times when we just had to put all hands on deck to get through. Our school had really strong rules and thoroughly trained and disciplined teachers who always made sure we adhere strictly to those rules. Some teachers were really fun to be with, but even at that they demanded seriousness from you.

We have this saying, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", so despite the strict rules we still had time for fun. There were competitions on different fields. Many on educative activities such as quiz competition, debate and spelling bees for both juniors and seniors. Many based on sport including football, race, and table tennis. Others are indoor games such as scrabble, Ludo, chess and many more.

Now that we’ve completed secondary school, the race to greatness has just started. Most of us are already on our way to universities to pursue the fulfillment of our dreams. We’ve been encouraged to stay focused and shun social vices, and we will, by God’s grace. To all my friends in High Dreamers group, farewell. See you at the top!
