As a business giant in the making, and an emerging world leader who believes a better world begins with little changes often neglected, I write on this platform to influence fellow young minds out there. Thanks to Seyi Dipo.

Stop Thinking and Act on This!
While going through a journal of mine recently, I came across this quote I penned down over a year ago – "The mass of men live in quiet desperation…"
My eyes stopped in taking its cursory survey of the journal and my mind switched on, then I began to think and resonate with this fact…
Quite a large number of men are clueless concerning life’s purpose – "why am I here?", they echo silently in prayer hoping the echo reaches the Almighty’s ear and a quick response is given. Sooner or later when we assume a response isn’t received we set out on our own journey of self-discovery.
In Solitude we observe and compare, we experiment with life and deduce ideologies, we ponder and think and think and tick tock the clock goes…
We have now observed and compared and deduced and pondered and thought for over a decade and now we have reached the middle of our lives – in our 40s and early 50s and we haven’t gotten the big answer on self – "why am I here?"
We’ve been deep in thought for long, and now we take it up a little -we begin to ‘overthink’. We begin to look at life in retrospect and curse ourselves for the opportunities we neglected, the true friends we rejected and the timely decisions we deferred. We overthink and overthink and tick tock the clock goes…
We fail to put in mind that ‘overthinking’ itself is not helpful cos it leads to a condition of analysis paralysis which hinders choice making to such an extent, that the required action is never taken. But since we’ve become so accustomed to it, sooner or later it becomes a new bad habit just formed.
We over-analyze our lives and short circuit our potentials, consequently we begin living inconsequential lives.
Statistical report of a research carried out about the suicide rates in US showed that people who commit suicide do so in their 40s or early 50s. Staggering, isn’t it? You wonder why someone would want to end their life at the middle of it. But, it just affirms the words of Myles Munroe, "when the purpose of a thing is not known Abuse is inevitable". However, not all men are ignorant of their purpose in life, a few have been exposed to destiny at youthful age and have grown to who they are by developing their strengths in their God given potentials.
On the other hand, a good number are successful but not fulfilled cos if you don’t operate in the area crafted for you to operate by the creator, the inner vaccum of fulfillment will not be filled.
In a pensive state someday, I asked myself some pertinent questions:
Would it not be exciting, if we discover who we were by asking our Creator and get an answer?
Would it not be gratifying, if we follow the Creator’s manual of life (The Bible) for a gradual evolvement to the king each of us are predestined to be?
Once we eventually discover our purpose on earth and pursue it, it would be an awesome blessing to mankind in its entirety.
Your foreordained journey of a thousand miles begins with a step of faith in the right direction. David Oyedepo took that step, Aliko Dangote took that step and the world would keep celebrating them for taking the steps even years after they are long gone.
What is holding you back? Stop thinking and just take that step – it’s a choice that regrets stay far from.
